Christopher Lincoln

Canberra born Christopher Lincoln
studied at the Victorian College of the Arts and, on graduating, joined
the Victoria State Opera as a young artist. As the winner of Opera
Foundation Australia's German Operatic Award he took a two-year
contract at Cologne Opera and thereafter based himself in Germany
appearing throughout Europe and America.
His opera performances internationally include houses such as San
Francisco Opera, Gran Teatre Liceau Barcelona, Het Musiktheater
Amsterdam, Flemish National Opera, Welsh National Opera, Frankfurt,
Hannover, Dusseldorf, Leipzig, Dresden and Bulgarian National Opera as
well as the major Australasian companies. Here he has appeared in major
roles that range from Mozart, Rossini, Donizetti Puccini and Verdi
through to Janacek, Britten, Berg and Hindermith. Christopher has also
performed leading roles in a number of world premier opera performances.
As a concert soloist Christopher has sung much of the solo oratorio and
concert repertoire as well as appearing regularly as a recitalist. He
appears on a number of CDs of 20th Century German Lieder.
