Georgian mezzo-soprano Mzia Nioradze studied at the Conservatory of Tbilisi before she completed her studies at the Music Academy of Osimo in Italy.

In 1991/92 she became soloist of the Opera House of Paliashvili (Georgian Republic) where she sang Eboli (Don Carlo), Azucena(Il Trovatore), Maddalena(Rigoletto), and Nano (Daisi by Paliashvili).

Mzia Nioradze was a finalist at the International Voice Competition Elena Obraztsova and Rimsky-korsakov in St.Petersburg as well as at  the International Belvedere Hans Gabor Competition in Vienna.

Since 1996, mzia Nioradze is a guest artist at the St.Petersburg Mariinsky Theatre, where she made her debut in the title role of Carmen. In that Teater she hes performed all the leading Verdi roles as well as the leading mezzo and contralto roles of the Russian repertory. She went on tour with the Mariinsky Teatre to Israel; in 2000 she took part in the new production War and Peace conducted by Gary Bertini at Opera National de Paris Bastille.

In 2001 mzia Nioradze made her United States debut as Konchakovna in a new production of Prince Igor at Houston Grand Opera conducted by Alexander Anissimov (production: FrancescaZambello), followed by Eboli in Essen with Stefan Soltesz, and a debut at the San Francisco Opera as Paransema in Arshak II, which opened the 01-02 season. She was Jejibaba in Dvorak's Rusalka in Lyon Opera.

mzia Nioradze made her Metropolitan Opera debut in War and Peace singing Elena, Matriosha and Mavra kusminichna, as was also featured as Maddalena in Rigoletto. In San francisco she sang the title role in Carmen. She returned to Lyon as Marina in Boris Godunov and sang Dalila in St.Petersburg  conducted by Valery Gergiev. She was highly praised for her performances of Azucena in Verdi's Trovatore in Marseilles.

In 2004-2005 Mzia nioradze returned to metropolitan as Marina Mnishek, maddalena and Amneris. She sang Verdi's Requiem and Amneris in Tbilisi (Georgia). In 2005 mzia Nioradze had great success as Federica in Verdi's luisa Miller (Dallas Opera). She also sang Azucena in Bologna  and Modena (first performance in Italy). Recording of her Verdi's Requiem conducted by Valery Gergiev in Amsterdam (2005) turned out to be a successfull project of the Amsterdam Television.

Upcoming engagements of Mzia Nioradze- Azucena, il trovatore (Toulon Opera), Die Walkure - Frika, Das Rheingold - Frika (Japanese tour of the Mariinsky theatre, conductor Valery Gergiev), La Gioconda, Il Trovatore (Santiago de Chili), Verdi's Requiem (Rio di Janeiro).
