Theater. I started my first dance company in 2001,
now called BelCobraDance.
From
2002 to 2004 I performed solo and with the dance company in adjudicated
showcases in the greater San Francisco and Los Angeles areas, and
produced several evening length dance concerts. In 2005
BelCobraDance has performed at
ChoreoProject in San Jose, CA and at the Bay Area Dance Marathon in
Walnut Creek,CA. I have performed solo at the Oriental Dance
Festival of Finland, at the Night of the Goddess in the Boston area, in
the SF Bay and greater Los Angeles areas, and in England in June and
July 2005. Additionally, some of our recent work was exhibited to top
international arts presenters at the ISPA Congress in Gateshead,
England in June 2005. BelCobraDance will perform five shows at the Boulder International
Fringe Festival in Boulder, Colorado August 20th-24th. Rick will also

Opera-Related Dance
In performances in California and England I
have performed a solo Middle Eastern dance fusion piece set to
Rossini's "Una voce poco fa" from Il Barbiere di Siviglia. I have also set a solo work on a female dancer, set to the "Liebestod" from Tristan and Isolde, have choreographed and performed a trio set to the Overture from Le Nozze di Figaro, and am just completing a female solo set to "Mon coeur s'ouvre a ta voix" from Samson et Dalilah, to
be performed at the Boulder International Fringe Festival; at this
event we will also be offering Middle Eastern/ belly dance fusion solos
and two Latin/Spanish flavored contemporary fusion works, both set to
music by Paco de Lucia. The movement style in these latter two
pieces is sultry, sassy, and energetic, and is particularly adaptable
to choreographing for Spanish themed works such as Carmen.
